How It Works

Where do you collect from and delivery to?
At present sendmybag.com is operational within the U.K., you can have a package collected and delivered anywhere within in the U.K. At present we do not collect from, or deliver to, any international address including the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands. However our partner may be able to help with international services, click here for information


What is the difference between the two services offered on the homepage?

Now there is no difference, prices have been averaged and reduced meaning you pay a maximum of £22 for all UK services, most customers will send multiple items and pay even less.


Why is sendmybag.com such good value?

Sendmybag.com started as a high volume courier sending thousands of items, by sending so much this means we can always offer great prices. But more importantly to us over the years we have developed our own exclusive services with national and international couriers, we believe our exclusive student centric services means the value of sendmybag.com is not just in the cost price but in the service you receive.


Can I book over the phone?

As a web based service sendmybag.com can only accept orders online. If you have difficulty please get in touch via our "Contact Us" page. We will reply to emails within 12 hours.


How do I pay?
After you complete the form you are then redirected to our secure payment processor. At this stage you can pay with credit / debit card or via a paypal account.


Do I have to book in advance?
You can book as far in advance as you like, however most customers simply book 2-3 days before they would like the collection to take place.


When will my item be collected?
Your item will be collected on your day of choice (not including weekends or bank holidays). This is not a guaranteed service and should therefore not be used for any especially time sensitive items. However we have an excellent record of over 97% of packages being collected and delivered on time.

Do I attach my own delivery labels?
Yes. It is extremly important that the customer clearly labels each item. You should clearly mark the delivery adddress, return address and tracking number (supplied in your confirmation email). If you believe your labels may fall off due to the material of the item please use a box or a different suitcase. If your labels fall off your item will be severly delayed and may even be lost - please securely attach labels.


What time will my item be collected?
Collections usually take place in the afternoon but can take place anytime between 9 & 18.00.


Do I need to be present for collection?
It is preferable that you are there for the collection. However if this is not possible, you can leave your package somewhere easily accessible (a porch, or open garage etc) and mark it “for collection by parcel force”. Leaving a package outside your home is done at your own risk. If you are not present and the package is not at the first port of call we would ask you to leave a note on your door telling the driver where it is. Please remember it must be somewhere easily accessible. Our drivers perform dozens of collections each day and do not have time to chase customers, they will arrive at the address, knock the door and if no one is present or the address is inaccessible i.e. access card/key required they will leave, no refund will be offered.


If you can’t be at home for the collection many of our customers arrange for the collection address to be their place of work.

Whether you are present or not please ask the driver to sign and date a page as proof of collection.


When will my item be delivered?
Your item will arrive 48 hours after collection (not including weekends or bank holidays). If you live in the highlands or other less accessible places delivery may take 3-4 days, please contact us for specific details. This is not a guaranteed service and should therefore not be used for any time sensitive items. However we have an excellent record of over 97% of packages being collected and delivered on time. In busy times such as June and september items going off shore from the Mainland to Northern Ireland may take an extra day.


What time will my item be delivered?
Deliveries usually take place in the morning but can take place anytime between 9 & 18.00.


Do I need to be present for delivery?

The package will need to be signed for. It can be signed for by anyone at the address, if no one is present to sign for the package the courier will try to deliver again the next day (One redelivery attempt free of charge), leave with a neighbour, or leave at a local post office.


When will I receive confirmation of my order?
The collection will not be confirmed until the day before your item is due for collection (usually between 16.00-18.00). Once booked you will receive a confirmation email which will contain your tracking number.

**Note when you book online you will receive an email from sendmybag with an order ID and another email from the payment processor confirming payment neither of these numbers are your tracking number. You will receive a confirmation email the day before collection which will contain your tracking number.**


Can I track my package?
Yes, simply click the "Tracking" tab at the top of this page. Enter your email address and password (passwords will have been sent when you booked, if you have lost or forgotten your password simply use our fogotten password facility. Once logged in you will see the status of your order, select tracking to be redirected to the couriers tracking facility.


What Can I send?
Our service is designed for those bulky essentials of student life, your spare clothes, your duvet and so on. Do not use our service to send items such as computers, printers, hi-fis etc, in the event that you do send such items and they are damaged sendmybag.com will not refund or compensate you in anyway. If you choose to send anything breakable, you do so at your own risk and you agree that you will ensure it is packaged thoroughly and appropriately. The courier covers each consigment for loss up to £150.00 and in the event of anything happening to your package sendmybag.com will pursue this claim on your behalf, as breakable items are sent at your own risk sendmybag.com will not pursure claims on items which arrive broken. As a third party operator sendmybag.com can not offer extra insurance, however you may already be covered under your home contents cover, please speak to your insurer for details.
You may not send anything which may be construed as illegal and you assume full responsibility for anything you send.


What should I send my items in?
When using a suitcase, simply lock it as you would for a flight and perhaps run some tape around the zip. Your case will be treated like any other package so please do not send a valuable case, sendmybag.com nor the courier is in no way responsible for the damage in transit to any case or bag. If you do not wish to send case a thoroughly packaged sturdy cardboard box is ideal. Do not send any form of plastic storage box. Regardless of your packaging it is important you attach a label cleary stating the delivery address and the tracking number.


Are there size or weight restrictions?
Your package cannot exceed 30kgs in weight, if found to do so it will be removed from travel.
Everyday our courier’s deliver packages of all shapes and sizes but there is a maximum size. The longest length may not exceed 150 cm. To see if your package fits within our size restrictions -

Note the longest length in cm.
Measure the other two lengths in cm, add them together and multiply by 2.
Now add this number to the longest length, this figure must not exceed 300cm.

Longest length + 2(breadth + width) = No More Than 300cm

Our size restrictions do allow for a very large box and we have never had a suitcase exceed the maximum size.
