Where
do you collect from and deliver to?
Sendmybag.com offers great value domestic luggage services, in addition to this we also deliver to 97 countries and can import to the UK from selected countries. Domestic services allow you
to have a suitcase collected and delivered anywhere within mainland
U.K. and Northern Ireland from £16.83. It will not be possible to collect and deliver to all off shore U.K. Islands please contact us to check if we can deliver to your particular location, at present we do not operate a service to or from the Channel Islands. For international excess baggage services please visit our dedicated page.

Can I book over the phone?
Yes, our booking line opens 9am - 1pm each day the telephone number is displayed at the very top of this page.
How can I pay?
At the end of our booking procedure you can pay with Visa, Matercard, Paypal and most other major cards.
Do I have to book in advance?
You can book as far in advance as you like, however most customers
simply book 2-3 days before they would like the collection to take
place. If you want to book a collection for the next day you must book before 3pm. Eg. If you book on a Monday at 8pm and ask for a driver to come on the Tuesday the driver will not be able to come until Wednesday, however if you book on a Monday at 2pm and ask for a driver to come Tuesday this will be fine. We pride ourselves on not being a standard courier, in order to receive a higher level of service we allow drivers to prepare their collection manifests the afternoon of the day before so we must have all bookings in by 3pm.
If you do require an emergency collection contact us as in some occassions we may be able to accommodate.
When will my item be collected?
Your items will be collected on a day of your choice (not including
weekends or bank holidays). This is not a guaranteed service and
should therefore not be used for any especially time sensitive
items. However we have an excellent record of over 97% of packages
being collected and delivered on time.
Do I attach my own delivery labels?
Yes. It is extremly important that the customer clearly labels each item. You should clearly mark the delivery adddress, return address, telephone number and tracking number (supplied in your confirmation email). If you believe your labels may fall off due to the material of the bag please use a box or a different suitcase. You could also wrap your suitcase in bubble wrap or purchase a packaging kit. If your labels fall off your item will be severely delayed and may even be lost - please securely attach labels.
International customers are required to print and attach an additional label sent via email once the collection is booked.
What
time will my item be collected?
Collections usually take place in the afternoon but can take place
anytime between 9 & 18.00.
Do I need to be present for collection?
It is preferable that you are there for the collection. However
if this is not possible, you can leave your package somewhere easily
accessible (a porch, or open garage etc) and mark it “for
collection”. Leaving a package outside your
home is done at your own risk. If you are not present and the package
is not at the first port of call we would ask you to leave a note
on your door telling the driver where it is. Please remember it
must be somewhere easily accessible. Our drivers perform dozens of collections each day and do not have time to chase customers, they will arrive at the address, knock the door and if no one is present or the address is inaccessible i.e. access card/key required they will leave, no refund will be offered.
If you can’t be at home for the collection many of our customers
arrange for the collection address to be their place of work.
Whether you are present or not please ask the driver to sign and date a page as proof of collection.
When will my item be delivered?
Your item will arrive 48 hours after collection (not including weekends
or bank holidays). If you live in the highlands or other less accessible
places delivery may take 3-4 days, please contact us for specific
details. This is not a guaranteed service and should therefore not
be used for any time sensitive items. However we have
an excellent record of over 97% of packages being collected and
delivered on time.
International deliveries take on average 4-8 days, depending on the destination.
What time will my item be delivered?
Deliveries usually take place in the morning but can take place
anytime between 9 & 18.00.
Do I need to be present for delivery?
The package will need to be signed for. It can be signed for by
anyone at the address, if no one is present to sign for the package
it will be left with a neighbour, returned to the depot or left
at a local post office. If a redelivery is necessary there may be
a charge for this service.
When will I receive confirmation of
my order?
The collection
will not be confirmed until the day before your item is due
for collection (usually between 16.00-18.00). Once booked you will
receive a confirmation email which will contain your tracking number.
**Note when you book online you will receive an email from sendmybag with an order ID and another email from the payment processor confirming payment neither of these numbers are your tracking number. You will receive a confirmation email the day before collection which will contain your tracking number.**
Can I track my package?
Yes, to track your student baggage simply click the "Tracking" tab at the top of this page. Enter your email address and password (passwords will have been sent when you booked, if you have lost or forgotten your password simply use our forgotten password facility. Once logged in you will see the status of your order, select tracking to be redirected to the couriers tracking facility.
What Can I send?
Our service is designed to help you avoid excess baggage charges by sending those bulky essentials when moving,
your spare clothes, your duvet and so on. If you choose to send
anything valuable or breakable (e.g a computer), you do so at your
own risk and you agree that you will ensure it is packaged thoroughly and appropriately - sendmybag cover does not include non standard excess baggage items which we advise against or prohibit customers from sending e.g. a Laptop Computer.
You may not send anything which may be construed as illegal and
you assume full responsibility for anything you send.
What should I send my items in?
As an excess baggage service many of our customers do use a suitcase, simply lock it as you would
for a flight and perhaps run some tape around the zip. Your case
will be treated like any other package so please do not send a valuable
case, sendmybag.com nor the courier is in no way responsible for
the damage in transit to any case or bag. If you do not wish to send case a thoroughly packaged sturdy cardboard
box is ideal. Plastic boxes are not acceptable and hold alls with canvas sides may result in labels falling off, if you use a hold all please take extra care to ensure the labels cannot come off. It is important you attach a label cleary stating the delivery address and the tracking number. Sendmybag.com now also offers a packaging kit which can be purchased during booking.
Do you offer insurance?
Most customers will be covered under their home contents insurance policy and will advise their insurer before travelling. For extra peace of mind sendmybag does offer complimentary £150 cover on every domestic consignment which can be increased to £250 by paying £2.50 at checkout. International services as standard do not have complimentary cover but you may pay £2.50 at checkout to receive cover of £150, we especially advise international customers to speak to their home contents or travel insurer before travelling.
Are there size or weight restrictions?
Your package cannot exceed 30kgs in weight, if found to do so it
will be removed from travel.
Everyday our courier’s deliver packages of all shapes and
sizes but there is a maximum size. The longest length may not exceed
150 cm. To see if your package fits within our size restrictions

Note the length, width and height in cm.
Multiply the three numbers together and then divide the total by 5000. This number must not exceed 30.
eg. 50 x 30 x 40 = 60000 / 5000 = 12. OK for travel.
Don't like doing sums? Don't worry, you must enter the length, width and height of your item during booking, if your item is oversize our system will tell you.
Our size restrictions do allow for a large suitcase, but if you break our maximum weight or dimensions the courier partner will automatically move your item to an oversized service and the additional cost will be debited from your payment card, the charge is typically £20-£40 but can be higher if your item is significantly over sized, surcharges on international services will vary depending on the desination.
We can accommodate oversized items within the UK and to International destinations but please contact us for a quote as they will be booked into specific over sized services which will cost much less than the surcharge imposed by the courier for sending an oversized item on a standard service.

Sendmybag.com student storage is essentially the standard sendmybag service but with a stop of up to 2 months in the middle, this means all standard terms and conditions and restrictions above apply.
Can I store a suitcase or my own box?
Yes you can use either a sturdy suitcase or box, if you need boxes you can order a packaging kit during the booking process.
What Can I store?
You can store anything which fits into the box but please note the weight and contents restrictions above. Your boxes will be transported twice via courier so we suggest nothing valuable or breakable is sent and that all items are packaged thoroughly. Your items will also be stacked. All standard restrictions apply, see terms and conditions for a prohibited items.
Do I enter my delivery address while booking?
No, you only need to tell us where to collect from, during booking when the delivery address is displayed instead of entering a delivery address you will tick "send to storage" a large red "X" will then block out the delivery address. When you are ready to retrieve your items from storage simply visit our retrieve from storage form, displayed at the top of every sendmybag.com page. Your collection and delivery addresses can be at opposite ends of the country.
How much does it cost?
Sendmybag student storage costs £15 per item, in addition to the standard sendmybag.com service. For the additional £15 you receive 2 months storage and the delivery of your item from our storage facility to your final address. For example we can collect 3 boxes (25kgs each) from Edinburgh university, store at our secure warehouse for 2 months and then deliver to your new home in London, for this service you would pay £88.74, with a sendmybag platinum club membership discount.

What does the student pack include?
The current pack includes everything detailed on the Student Pack page, it even comes packed in a suitcase meaning you can avoid excess baggage by using sendmybag.com for your large suitcases and carrying on hang luggage. In the pack you will find products from popular household names including Nescafe, Ikea, Tesco, Pringles and many more. Sendmybag does not manufacture any of the contents, we have simply worked with many suppliers to bring togther an excellent value pack. For products such as the kettle and iron in the case of malfunction you will need to return them directly to our supplier.
When will the pack be delivered?
During the checkout process you can choose a date which suits you for the pack to be delivered, this makes the pack an excellent present, it can be ready and waiting for the arrival of the student or if the student is staying in their own house perhaps choose one day later. If you choose delivery for a wednesday sendmybag will despatch it on a two day courier service on the monday, we cannot guarantee delivery on the wednesday but our service runs 97% on time.
We suggest you always purchase at least 4 working days in advance to ensure we have enough time to pick and despatch your order in time for your choosen delivery date. You will need to ensure that there is someone at the delivery address willing to sign for the pack. At oxford and cambridge we find the porters are very helpful, if it is another uni we simply advise you telephone your halls to check what address to use for delivery.
When are student packs available?
Student packs are currently only available during September and October.
Can I return my pack?
Student packs are custom built for each student and as such you may not return a pack for a refund. If a pack arrives with damaged or missing contents please inform us within 48hrs of arrival and we will resolve the problem. Please note the suitcase is treated as packaging for the item, external marks, scuffs of damage to the suitcase during delivery are not cause for return.
