UK Plans Additional Rescue Flights to Help Britons in India

The British High Commission have announced plans for additional rescue flights to help Britons stranded in India.

Twelve additional charter flights capable of carrying 3,000 passengers were announced as part of a broader £75 million programme to bring Britons who are stranded abroad during the coronavirus pandemic. The plans mean the total number of Britons returning to the UK from India will reach 5,000.

Available for booking from April 10th, the flights will depart from the following locations across between April 13th and April 20th Goa, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram.

Information on how to book a ticket can be found on the travel advice page for India at the official gov.uk website, under the ‘Return to the UK’ section.

As travel within India is currently very limited, the British High Commission will contact those individuals with a confirmed seat detailing further information regarding transfer to the necessary airports.
