From idea to millions of moves completed
Send My Bag has been helping customers travel light for almost 20 years, but we went from idea to shipping bags within only a matter of weeks!
In the summer of 2006 our founder Adam travelled from Northern Ireland to his girlfriend's university in England to help her clear out her dorm room and bring her belongings home. They went through the usual process of dragging a couple of suitcases across town and taking a bus to the airport. The difference this time though, when they checked-in the bags they were charged more than the price of the ticket in excess baggage fees!
A couple of years earlier after stumbling into buying 2000 music books from a bankrupt music store, Adam had gone on to establish a business which manufactured and sold musical instruments to customers around the world. In other words, he spent his days importing goods from factories and shipping to customers, he knew the costs involved in moving something by air freight and it wasn't anything like what the airline charged that day.
On the flight home Adam kept thinking about their experience, they'd humped these heavy suitcases across town, paid a rip-off fee (after already paying for the luggage) and they probably still had a 45 minute baggage carousel wait when they landed...
Adam knew he could could ship his musical instruments safely around the country and around the world and as much of a cliche as it is, he jotted down 'sendmybag.com' on a napkin.
The rest, as they say, is history!

Our Team and our Home
In order to provide the best possible service to a global customer base our team operates 24hrs and 7 days. While always growing, our customer service team is full of experience, including every member of the management team having worked their way up from entry level roles.
In 2022 we took the opportunity to construct a new HQ building bringing all teams together under one roof. In addition to the state of the art practical elements included within our new HQ, our offices have also been designed to be a comfortable welcoming environment.
