Send My Bag CEO Helps Judge Northern Ireland's Next Business Stars

Friday, 9 May 2025

Send My Bag founder and CEO, Adam Ewart, recently had the privilege of serving on the judging panel for the prestigious Young Enterprise Northern Ireland (YENI) annual awards, known as YEA25.

Celebrating Young Business Talent

The awards ceremony, held at Belfast City Hall on Friday, 2nd May, showcased the incredible entrepreneurial talent emerging from Northern Ireland's schools and colleges. As a former Young Enterprise participant himself, Adam was particularly inspired by the creativity and commercial acumen displayed by the student teams.

Adam Ewart commented:

"As a former Young Enterprise participant, I know first-hand how impactful this experience can be," said Adam.

"The standard of entries this year was incredibly high, and Minted Minds really stood out with their thoughtful product, clear vision and professional delivery. They should be very proud."

Minted Minds Takes Top Honours

The coveted 'Company of the Year' award went to Minted Minds from Omagh Academy, who developed an innovative financial management book aimed at teaching money fundamentals to children transitioning from primary to secondary school. Their thoughtful approach to financial literacy for young people impressed the judges and earned them the opportunity to represent Northern Ireland at the Young Enterprise UK Company Final Awards. Success there could lead to the European finals in Athens later this year.

Entrepreneurial Spirit in Northern Ireland

The event highlighted six student-powered companies competing for the top prize, with Beez Kneez from Bangor Academy & Sixth Form College named as runners-up. Other notable winners included:

  • 3D Xtreme from Northern Regional College, Ballymena (Best Start Up)

  • Drip Drop from Park School, Belfast (Team Programme winner)

  • Blooming Bridges from Maguiresbridge Primary School (Business Beginnings award)
