Why Ship to Pakistan?

If you’re planning a visit to Pakistan, whether it’s a business trip, a long vacation to see the sights and explore the wonderful countryside, or perhaps you’re relocating, there’s always the risk that your suitcase may be overweight and that you’ll be forced to pay extra charges to take it on board the plane. Or you may want to take oversized or unusual items and equipment for activities, such as skiing or snowboarding in the mountains, or a diving kit and gear for scuba diving and snorkeling.

If this sounds like an issue you might have and need to resolve, Send My Bag might be the answer you’re looking for. When you book a collection from us, we can pick up your bag, equipment or extra luggage right from your front door and deliver it to your accommodation in Pakistan, wherever that might be. It saves you from all the hassle of having to transport awkward or heavy bags all the way from home to your destination or resort, and can also save on the extra fees you might incur. It’s quick and easy to organise a shipment via Send My Bag and it will get your extra luggage there safely and reliably.

Students can also use the services of Send My Bag to transport their belongings to/from their student accommodation when moving to Pakistan or abroad from Pakistan for their studies.

As well as sending parcels, baggage and luggage to Pakistan you could attempt the following options for shipping items internationally, especially if you need to send large, bulky items like a table or chairs:

Air Freight to Pakistan

You could consider using air freight to send items to Pakistan. This service usually takes one to two days. You need to consider the size of your shipment to determine what you would have to pay, and you need to factor in the cost of paying for a customs agent to handle customs clearance for you. In addition, you need to transport your items to and from the airport somehow. Costs could, therefore, quickly mount up. If you send internationally by air freight to Pakistan your items will likely arrive at one of the major airports, such as Jinnah, Gwadar or Quetta International Airports.

Sea Freight and Container Shipping to Pakistan

You could go for sea freight or container shipping to transport your possessions to Pakistan, instead. This is a good option for very large items, such as a snooker table or even a car. This service is much slower and can be less expensive than air freight, but you will still need to use the services of a customs agent and will need to sort out how to get your items to and from the ports ‒ so the cost could be more than expected. When using container shipping to Pakistan your items will most likely arrive by ship at one of the major sea ports, such as Karachi or Port Qasim.

Shipping Goods to Pakistan

You should be aware of the current customs rules in Pakistan when shipping goods there. Find out what duty you need to pay and what items are allowed to be shipped to Pakistan, which items are restricted, and which are completely prohibited. Important Pakistan Customs Information

If personal effects are cleared formally by Pakistani customs, there will be an additional 3 day delay.

General Customs Information

Given that most countries offer a generous duty free allowance for personal effects, the majority of Send My Bag shipments worldwide are not intercepted by customs. Personal effects are usually considered to be used items which have been in the sender's possession for 6 months or more.

If your bag is stopped by Pakistani customs and is found to contain brand new or commercial items, you may be required to pay customs duties. Please check with Pakistani customs if you are sending gifts to Pakistan so you are aware of potential customs duties, follow any advice given and attach all necessary documentation.

Please double check to see how your circumstances and what you are sending will be affected by customs duties and restrictions. Remember that customs processes and allowances do vary by country.

To find out more, have a look at our customs information page.

In order to demonstrate that your shipment consists of personal effects, you will be required to complete a brief non generic packing list online, entries to be made in the format: "3 x Pairs of Shoes, 4 x Cotton Shirt, 3 x Woolen Sweater", and so on, rather than as "10 x Used Clothing".

About Pakistan

About Pakistan

The climate in Pakistan can be hugely varied depending on season, altitude and location. One of the highest temperatures in the world has been recorded there, yet the mountains in the north are usually covered in snow. Temperatures soar during the summer, with average temperatures of around 100°F and hot winds inland. Winters are generally cold with average temperatures sitting around 39°F in Punjab and below freezing further north. The currency used in Pakistan is the Pakistani Rupee, and the official languages of the country are Urdu and English.

Pakistan is a hugely diverse country that draws tourists to attractions of all kinds, from the ruins of ancient civilizations such as Mohenjo-daro and Taxila, to the Himalayan Mountains in the north where winter sports prevail, and the beaches of the Arabian Sea where you can practise scuba diving.
