About Argentina
Argentina is a large South American country with diverse terrain including numerous areas of natural beauty for the traveller to enjoy – an excellent backdrop for both summer and winter sports. Its cities are vibrant, full of life and rich in culture. Argentina is also a great destination for foodies. The visitor can sample its unique local dishes and savour some of the world’s most celebrated wines.
Given Argentina’s vast size, the climate can vary widely. The north can experience extreme heat, while the south has a sub Antarctic climate. January is the warmest month throughout the country and June and July are the coldest. It is best to visit the north during the country’s winter and the south during the summer to avoid extremes of temperature.
There are plenty of amazing sights in Argentina to fill a long holiday. The top destination has got to be Iguazú Falls in the north east of the country, which consists of around 275 waterfalls to marvel at. Another area of natural beauty that you must check out is Los Glaciares National Park in the South West, bordering Chile. This UNESCO World Heritage site boasts almost 50 large glaciers and 200 smaller ones. In these surroundings visitors can enjoy breath-taking hikes and other winter sports.
As far as cities go, Buenos Aires is hard to beat, given its fabulous food and bustling nightlife. Sights to see within the city include the Teatro Colon - a stunning opera house -, the Recoleta Cemetery, where lots of famous people are buried, and Bosques de Palermo – a lovely park with a museum and rose garden.

Air Freight to Argentina
You could use airfreight to get your items to Argentina. You might go for this option if you have large items to transport, such as nesting tables or an armchair. The price you will be charged for this service will be based on the weight and size of your shipment. Sending items by air freight usually takes one to two days and is usually faster than sea freight shipping, but typically more expensive. So, if speed is important to you, this may work for you. However, if you choose this option you will likely have to use the services of a customs agent to handle customs clearance for you. Also, you will need to arrange the transportation of your items to and from the airport. You will, therefore, have several different costs to consider if you choose air freight. If you send internationally by air freight to Argentina your items would likely arrive at one of the major airports, such as Ministro Pistarini International Airport and Jorge Newbery Airport, both in Buenos Aires.
Sea Freight and Container Shipping to Argentina
Shipping your possessions to Argentina by sea rather than air freight is an option for sending large items that you don’t need to receive immediately. Choosing sea freight can be cheaper than paying for air freight. Sea freight usually means shipping items in containers. With container shipping your items are transported inside a large container (usually the size of a truck) on board a cargo ship. You might choose this option if you have sizeable items to transport internationally, such as a sofa or a bed – items that will help you set up home quickly in Argentina. Again, you will need to use the services of a customs agent and will need to sort out how to get your items to and from the ports, with this all adding up in terms of cost. When using container shipping to Argentina your items will most likely arrive by ship at one of Argentina’s biggest ports, the Port of Buenos Aires.
Shipping Goods to Argentina
When shipping goods to Argentina you need to do your homework to make sure that you follow the country’s customs rules. Argentina’s customs regulations are notoriously strict, so you should make yourself fully aware of any duty that you need to pay and what items are allowed to be shipped to Argentina, which items have restrictions attached, and which are entirely prohibited. Take a look at the prohibited items and customs sections on this page for more information. As you will see, items that you are restricted when shipping to Argentina include; perishables, credit cards and cheques.
